BIMCO Announces Revision to the HRA

BIMCO is pleased to advise that the co-sponsors of BMP 4 have agreed to a revised definition of the High Risk Area.
Effective as of teh 1st December 2015 The High Risk Area (HRA) is now defined as being bounded by:
In the Red Sea: Latitude 15N In the Gulf of Oman: Latitude 22N Eastern limit: Longitude 065E Southern limit: Latitude 5S
Whilst the revision re-designates the area considered to be at a high risk of Somalia-based pirate groups, it is stressed that these groups retain the ability to attack at historical limits of their activity.
