A tanker has been attacked this morning in pos: 03.56.6 N & 004.43.7 E, by a speed boat with 12-15 pirates onboard.
The fully armed pirates attempted to board the tanker, and they continued to fire towards the bridge.
The vessels armed security guards started back firing to the boat, but after several attempts to board the tanker, the pirate boat ceased the chasing at 1130 hrs LT.
A 7-10 meters aluminum ladder was observed in the boat. The tanker also called a nearby navy ship for assistance.
The pirate boat was last seen heading in a northerly direction. No crew were harmed.
