Title: Attack - MTISC-GoG Alert #073
Date: 05-05-2016
Place: 36 NM SW of Bayelsa coast, Nigeria
The MTISC-GOG has received a report, that armed pirates in a speedboat chased and fired upon a tanker underway in pos: 03.54.0 N & 005.32.0 E at 02:26 UTC.
The attack was aborted due to presence of Navy Personnel onboard and anti piracy measures.
No crew were harmed.
All vessels within the vicinity of this alert are advised to operate with a heightened level of security and encouraged to report any suspicious activity to info@mtiscgog.org
