Supply vessel PRINCE JOSEPH 1 escorted by the patrol vessel MEDIATOR was attacked by two speed boats when sailing at about 80 N.miles from the shore, offshore Bayelsa state.
Pirates in 2 blue hulled speed boats approached the two vessels. They had probably been hiding in wait behind another vessel the HUDSON MARY SILAS before the attack.
The HUDSON MARY SILAS was deemed to be the mother vessel by vessels attacked (Updated 11/07/16 - ASKET have confirmed with the vessel operators that this is not the case, the HUDSON MARY SILAS was conducting escort duties, is registered and was showing AIS)
The attack was repelled by the MEDIATOR.
The same day, the MT BOUBOULINA had been under attack in almost the same location.
