SUSPICIOUS CRAFT: This incident will not be included in the IMB statistics 25.10.2016: 0910 LT:
Posn: 06:15.3N – 003:21.6E, Around 15.7nm South of Lagos, Nigeria.
A product tanker underway was approached by two suspicious speed boats. Vessel raised the alarm and activated the SSAS, altered course, increased speed and crew mustered in the safe area.
An urgency call was made via vhf channel and a Nigerian navy patrol boat responded to the call and chased the suspicious boats.
