2017-002A-Report of Mine Laying-Entrance to al Mocha Harbor, Yemen
A maritime threat has been reported in the vicinity of Mocha, Yemen. The U.S. Government has reason to believe in late January, mines were laid by Houthi rebels in Yemeni territorial waters in the Red Sea close to the mouth of the al Mocha harbor. Mariners are advised to exercise caution when transiting this area. This alert will automatically expire on February 11, 2017.
2017-001A-Waterborne Improvised Explosive Device-Southern Red Sea
A maritime attack against a Saudi frigate resulting in an explosion has been reported in the Southern Red Sea in the vicinity of Hudaydah Port, Yemen on January 30, 2017. Exercise caution when transiting this area. Further updates will be provided when available. This alert will automatically expire on February 7, 2017.
