SUSPICIOUS APPROACH

12 NM / 070 On 19th Augst 07:06Z,

While a MV was mooring in position 0544.8N 00447.5E, close to UPKOTIKI MARINE TERMINAL, NIGERIA several merchant vessels were approached by 8 skiffs (10 to 12 meters long), one MV was approached to 0.3nm. Each skiff had 2 POB and no weapons or ladders were seen. The skiffs behaviour was not aggressive and they did not attempt to board any vessel.

As the alarm was raised by the vessel, UPKOTIKI MARINE TERMINAL immediately sent the safety boat CELTIK EBENEZER to the position.

The skiffs left the area as the CELTIC EBENIZER and the FPSO TRINTY arrived in the area.
