This week UKMTO have issued no Advisories and no Warnings.

1. On 25 Jul 18 Saudi Arabia temporarily ceased oil transportation to its Red Sea ports over fears for the safety of its tankers, the action was sparked by an incident involving a Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC) on 24 Jul. In a press release yesterday, the Saudis announced they have now resumed shipments through the Bab el Mandeb strait (a).

2. The financial cost of keeping Indian Ocean Piracy supressed is discussed in one media article this week (b).

3. EU NAVFOR announced this week that the mandate for their Somalia Operation Atalanta has been extended until 31 Dec 20. The EU Council also confirmed that EU NAVOR headquarters will relocate to Rota in Spain with the MSCHOA HQ moving to Brest in France on 29 March 19. Vice Admiral Antonio Martorell Lacave will be the new Operational Commander (c and d).
