IMB ICC - 191-18 Tug / Barge

05.12.2018: 1230 UTC: Posn : 05:38N – 118: 57E, Around 12nm NE of Sabah Coast, Malaysia.

Four armed persons in a speed boat approached and fired upon a tug towing an unladen barge resulting in the Master being shot in the leg. Alarm raised and distress message sent on VHF Ch 16.

A Royal Malaysian Police boat responded and took the injured Master to hospital. Remaining crew safe.
