1. UKMTO has issued no Advisories and no Warnings this week.

2. A US Maritime Alert (2019- 004) was issued, the alert concerns naval activity in the Persian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz, Gulf of Oman, and Arabian Sea and gives guidance to U.S and non U.S merchant ships should they encounter naval vessels or are contacted by them. The alert can be viewed at www.marad.dot.gov/MSCI .

3. A number of articles in the media this week focus on Somali piracy both past and present. Although Somali piracy remains supressed it is important that the maritime industry maintains awareness and continues to implement guidance given in BMP5..
