176/35 off Calabar (06 NM off coast) , NIGERIA

On 20th March 2019, at approximately 0600UTC, at Agbani, within territorial waters (04°26N - 008°21E / CALABAR AREA/ 06NM off the coast), a passenger boat (NAME WITHHELD) was attacked by 7 pirates armed with AK-47.

They boarded the vessel and robbed the passengers and crewmembers. The vessel has berthed safely at Shoreline Jetty(Calabar) around 1030UTC.

MDAT-GOG comment: This event was a time late report. It happened in Nigerian Territorial Waters so it will be classified as a Maritime Crime Activity.
