HIJACK

19/04/2019

Bonny Anchorage, NIGERIA

On the 19th April at approximately 1330UTC , an MT(NAME WITHHELD) was boarded by a unknown number of pirates while the MT(NAME WITHHELD) was at Bonny Anchorage (04°28.5N - 007°10.7E).

The Nigerian Navy relocated the MV and came on board to assist. The investigation is still ongoing.

ATTEMPTED THEFT

24/04/2019

228/06NM off Lagos, NIGERIA

On the 24th April at 0215UTC, in position 06°20N – 003°20E, a duty AB while on deck round, reported thieves on board near cargo tank. The ships alarm was raised immediately and the thieves jumped over board and fled away.

NNS RANGER was informed about this incident and came to assist the MV (NAME WITHHELD). The ship and crew were reported safe.
