ATTACK

12/05/2019

Lome Anchorage, TOGO

On the 12th May around 0100UTC at Lome Anchorage, an MV (NAME WITHHELD) reported as attacked by pirates. Due to the quick and immediate intervention of the Togolese Navy (simultaneous deployment of a fast patrol craft and two patrol boats) and the action of Togo navy assault team, the 7 crew members were released and the 8 pirates were all captured and handed over to the investigating authorities of Lome.

ROBBERY

14/05/2019

180/9 Nm off Conakry, Guinea

On the 14th May at 0142UTC a cargo vessel (NAME WITHHELD) was boarded at the Guinea Anchorage. The incident occurred at position 09°23ʹ N 013°43ʹ W. The perpetrators boarded the vessel by means of a speed boat and a ladder and took personal belongings of crew members.
