1. This week UKMTO issued no advisories or warnings.

2. Vessel operators and ships masters are reminded to register their ships transits of the Strait of Hormuz (SoH) at least 72hrs ahead of their passage. Registering SoH transits with UKMTO and remaining cognisant of the latest Industry, Government and Military guidance remains vital to mitigate against potential risks in the area.

3. On 11 Oct, the UK Department for Transport (DfT) released Security Notification 2019/29 to Red Ensign Group (REG) shipping for transits of the Red Sea North. All REG ship’s CSO should ensure that they are fully aware of the latest Flag State guidance and that it is communicated in a timely manner to ship’s masters.

4. Commander Maritime Forces (CMF) warships HMS MONTROSE and FS JEAN BURT seized 170 kilograms of illegal drugs during operations in the Arabian Sea. For further details see link at para. 5(a).
