Gray Page Update:
Seafarers seized after armed guards fail to deter attackers
Pirates attacked a Greek-flagged oil tanker off the coast of Togo in the early hours of November 4 and took four crew members hostage.
The 94,140 deadweight tonne (dwt) ELKA ARISTOTLE was 9.5 nautical miles (nm) off the port of Lome.
The Togolese Navy said the armed guards on-board the ELKA ARISTOTLE had tried to fight off the attackers. One of the guards was wounded in an exchange of fire.
Two of the seafarers taken hostage were from the Philippines; one was from Greece and the other from Georgia.
