Highlights:

  • PIRACY / ROBBERY:

  • 4 piracy events reported:

  • 2 robbery attempts in the Strait of Singapore, on 2 bulkers underway;

  • 2 sea thefts on anchored ships in Manila and Batangas (Philippines), including a container carrier and an oil tanker;

  • Total of 81 events in the IFC area of ​​responsibility since January 1, 2019, including 36 events in the Strait of Singapore (nearly half of all IFC reported events)> there is therefore a continuous decline in the volume of piracy act in IFC area of ​​responsibility since 2016 (149 in 2016, 119 in 2017, 99 in 2018) despite a significant increase in events in the Strait of Singapore (20 in 2017, 21 in 2018)

  • MARITIME TERRORISM: no event reported. The curfew of ESSCOM (Sabah authorities) in the Sulawesi / Sulu Seas is extended until 7 December;
