Highlights:
2 attempted actions of robbery reported on:
1 tanker en route in the Singapore Strait (08/01);
1 container ship at anchor in Manila, Indonesia (23/12);
15 incidents in the IFC area of responsibility for December 19, with 9 in the Singapore Strait and its approaches > up compared to Dec 2018 (7) but down compared to Dec 2017 (18);
96 events reported to date in 2019 in the IFC area of responsibility, which was ultimately fairly stable compared to 2018 (149 in 2016, 119 in 2017 and 99 in 2018). Only one event reported for the moment in 2020.
In addition, the curfew is still underway off Sabah, until January 21, 2020, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., in the regions of Tawau, Semporna, Kunak, Lahad Datu, Kinabatangan, Sandakan and Beluran. The risk of maritime terrorism remains very high for vessels with low freeboards and / or low speed.
