Highlights:
2 sea theft reported on:
1 supply vessel at anchor in Alang, India (07/01);
1 bulk carrier at anchor in Panjang, Indonesia (01/13);
3 sea theft reported to date in 2020 in the IFC area of responsibility;
The curfew is still underway off Sabah, until January 21, 2020, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., in the regions of Tawau, Semporna, Kunak, Lahad Datu, Kinabatangan, Sandakan and Beluran. The risk of maritime terrorism remains very high for vessels with low freeboards and / or low speed. In addition, the last hostage kidnapped in the Sulu Sea on a fishing vessel last September was also released this week by the Philippine forces.
