1. On 10 Jan 2020 the UK Department for Transport (DfT) issued revised Maritime Security Guidance for British (REG) flagged ships operating in the Arabian Gulf. DfT Ref 2020/03 refers.
2. All REG ship’s CSOs should ensure that they and their ship’s masters, are fully aware of the latest Flag State guidance issued by DfT. 3. On 13 Jan 2020 the U.S. Maritime Administration (MARAD) released guidance to U.S. commercial shipping. U.S. Maritime Advisory 2020-001: Persian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz, Gulf of Oman, Arabian Sea, Gulf of Aden and Indian Ocean - Threat to commercial vessels from Iran and its proxies.
