Two events have been reported to MDAT-GoG this week.

Maritime Crime Activity
Robbery
03/02/20
Lagos anchorage area, NIGERIA
On the 1st February at 0130UTC, in Lagos STS area anchorage (06°15'42N - 003°19'06E), a duty crew member saw two unauthorized men on board. They tried to cease him but, he managed to escape and raise the alarm. All crew members evacuated to citadel and requested help from the Nigerian Navy.
Vessel (NAME WITHHELD) and crew were reported safe.

Irregular Activity
05/02/20
188/327 NM off Accra, GHANA
On the 5th February 2020 around 0826UTC (00°29’N-000°58’W), a suspicious craft kept following a MV (NAME WITHHELD) despite its numerous course alterations. The suspicious ship did not respond to any VHF calls.
No weapons or towed skiff were observed.
After monitoring the situation with the Captain and the CSO during the next few hours, MDAT and the CSO concluded that the situation had no further risk to the vessel and the crew.
