Three events have been reported to MDAT-GoG this week.

BOARDING
20/02/2020
195/75NM off Cotonou, BENIN
On the 20th February 2020 at 0110UTC in position 05°08'31N - 002°06'14.4E, an unknown number of armed attackers boarded an MT (NAME WITHHELD). The CSO and company lost all communications and tracking of the MT for approximately 9 hours. A Beninese patrol ship was dispatched to assist the MT(NAME WITHHELD).
The MT(NAME WITHHELD) has now restored all communications along with it’s AIS tracking and has now arrived in Lagos.
MDAT-GoG comment: This event refers to WARNING 002/FEB/20.
THEFT
15/02/2020
023/4NM off Luanda, ANGOLA
On the 15th February 2020 at 0300UTC, while the MV (NAME WITHHELD) was at Luanda anchorage (08°43'2S -013°17'3E), a duty crew member discovered that the paint store had been broken into and stores stolen.
MV (NAME WITHHELD) and ship were reported safe.

THEFT
18/02/2020
235/12NM off Lagos, NIGERIA
On the 18th February 2020 at 0020UTC, while at Lagos SAA (06°17'53N - 003°14'16E), three unarmed men tried to board an MV (NAME WITHHELD) through the anchor chain. The alarm was raised by the deckwatch and the perpetrators fled away.
A patrol ship came to assist the MV (NAME WITHHELD).
Crew and ship were reported safe.
