Two events have been reported to MDAT-GoG this week.
Boarding
30/04/20 190°/170Nm off Lagos, NIGERIA
On the 30th April, 2020 at 1940Z, an MT (NAME WITHHELD) has been boarded in position 03°30’N 003°49E’ by a skiff with an unknown number of armed pirates.
MDAT-GoG comment:This event refers to WARNING 003/MAR/20.
Suspicious approach
30/04/20 Takoradi Anchorage, GHANA
On the 30th April 2020 at 0100Z, an MV (NAME WITHHELD) has reported an attempted boarding in position 04°54.17’N 001°42.85’W by one skiff with 6 persons on board at Takoradi anchorage. Following the unsuccessful attempt, the skiff attempted to board another MV (NAME WITHHELD), unsuccessfully.
The skiff returned to the first ship where it was arrested by a patrol boat.
