1. On 8 Sep 20 the trial began of five Somali nationals suspected of carrying out a piracy attacked on the Korean flagged fishing vessel ‘Adria’ in April 2019. This attack was the last confirmed piracy incident in the Indian Ocean region (see media article d).

2. The International Maritime Security Construct (IMSC) are holding a Shipping Industry Stakeholders Conference on 16 Sept 20. Anyone wishing to register for this event should contact: Christopher.Perry@me.navy.mil

3. UKMTO (Dubai) has resumed the provision of Maritime Security briefings to merchant vessels alongside ports in the UAE. All visits follow published Industry guidance in relation to COVID-19 and our officers will comply with individual commercial shipping companies restrictions as required.
